ELVENSTAR CONGRATULATES OUR 2010 LAHJA YEAR END WINNERS!
The 2010 LAHJA awards banquet was held last night at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. It is the 50 year anniversary of the Los Angeles Hunter Jumper Association and in addition to the awards it was fun to go back in history remembering show grounds like Sleepy Hollow, Roscoe Stables, White Oak Stables, and many others where there was only one show arena for all of the classes. In 1960 there were only 12 divisions to receive year end awards and now there are over 30, along with show grounds that have anywhere from 2-7 arenas. LAHJA has certainly grown since its inception!!! Elvenstar is proud to have been a part of this organization for many years and consistently has many year end winners as you can see by the following:

Horsemastership Competition:
This competition consists of three phases: Written, Hands On, and Riding (judged by video), the winners of each phase received a perpetual trophy and championship ribbon. In addition the overall winners are awarded college scholarship money. $2,500.00 to the winner, $1,500.00 to second place, and $1,500.00 to third/ there is also a special achievement award and perpetual trophy to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd high scoring 11/under competitors. This competition is open to all junior members of LAHJA regardless of age or riding level. It is an honor to win one of the divisions, as the competition is very tough.
I am proud to announce that this year Elvenstar riders won all three phases and the overall competition!
